Happy Independence Day to all
Today, we celebrate the 76th anniversary of our freedom from British colonial rule. On this day in 1947, India became a sovereign nation after a long and hard struggle for independence. We remember and honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, leaders and martyrs who gave their lives for our country.
We also celebrate the diversity, unity and progress of our nation. India is a land of many cultures, languages, religions and traditions. We are proud of our rich heritage and our vibrant democracy. We are also proud of our achievements in various fields like science, technology, education, sports and arts.
Let us all pledge to uphold the values of our constitution and work together for the peace, prosperity and harmony of our country. Let us also respect and protect the rights and dignity of every citizen. Let us make India a shining example of democracy, justice and development for the world.
